| This is similar to Theoretical Throat - Undercut, except that this is the length of the horizontal leg of the largest "undercut" triangle inscribed in the weld. The "undercut" triangle is found passing through the toes of the weld or where the undercut starts , whichever is closer to the joint root. Then the triangle is slided down until it is below the surface of the weld bead. This dimension is not currently defined for welds with curved lower plates. |
