60 - Root Penetration (0.5mm CAT)
Root Penetration (0.5mm CAT) is similar to Root Penetration (horizontal), but the fusion at the top of the bottom plate is considered also. The root penetration is set to the minimum of the two horizontal penetrations (A and B in the pictures), unless there is insufficient penetration into the lower plate. If there is less than 0.5mm penetration into the lower plate, then the root penetration is set to 0.0.

The penetration into the lower plate is calculated by considering penetration LEFT of the joint root only. If the lower plate is curved, then the joint root line used to consider penetration is dropped down parallel to the upper plate through the lower plate.
