| The "V Root" was originally implemented for BOC Gases for welds they had with a tilted top plate. With a straight lower plate, this is what you get if you drop a vertical line thru the upper outer toe! If the lower plate is curved, It is the same as the Joint Root (because vertical is assumed to be parallel with the upper plate!). |
